Ottawa County Art Trust ExhibitionÂ
Artwork is on display now through August 25 in the halls of the Ottawa County Administration Building (12220 Fillmore, West Olive) as part of the Art Trust Exhibition which highlights the talent of our Ottawa County residents.
In this fifth year of the project alongside the Holland Area Arts Council, 29 talented artists submitted a total of 52 beautiful pieces to the exhibition. The exhibit officially opens on Monday, June 26 from 4 -5 p.m. at a public reception in the lobby. At that time, organizers will announce which works will become a part of Ottawa County’s permanent art collection. Please join us to appreciate the artwork and meet the artists.
Artwork not selected for Ottawa County's collection remains for sale. Art purchases support local artists, the Holland Area Arts Council and the future of the Art Trust.
History of the Art Trust
Ottawa County and the Holland Area Arts Council joined forces in 2018 to establish the Ottawa County Art Trust. An art trust allows the County to build a collection of works to be displayed and cataloged for future generations. To build the collection, Ottawa County and The Holland Area Arts Council collaborate for the annual Ottawa County Art Trust Exhibition each summer. As of December 2022, Ottawa County has grown its collection to 47 art pieces with an estimated value of $21,000. On average, the exhibition displays 60 works from 34 unique artists each year.
