John,
For anyone keeping score at home, this week Lauren Boebert’s stock went down quite a bit. Not only did her bogus impeachment articles against Joe Biden go nowhere in the GOP-controlled House, but Speaker Kevin McCarthy is actively telling Republicans not to vote for it. Many prominent GOP leaders have publicly stated they will not support it.
Lauren Boebert is burning bridges and ignoring the advice of the Republican leaders who may just as soon decide she's more trouble than she's worth, and throw her to the Western Slope gray wolves (the ones she seems to hate so much).
Look, we almost beat Boebert last year. We are confident, yet cautious, that we will defeat her in 2024. Between now and then, we are working hard to organize voters who are often left out of the major parties’ strategies.
The DCCC and other Democratic groups will help to beat Boebert with huge spends on mail and TV ads targeted at older voters who are highly likely to vote, and that’s great. But The Colorado Turnout Project is focused on filling in the gaps where close elections are truly decided: Young voters. New U.S. citizens. Black and Brown communities in the mountains and in Pueblo.
Lauren Boebert doesn’t belong in Congress, and she refuses to build any bridges or attempt to solve any problems for her constituents; she will never be a real factor there. Voters are sick of her toxic insult politics and divisive positions, but we’ll need everyone to dig deep to beat Boebert in the 3rd District.
