John, I know firsthand about the immigrant experience. My background, my identity, and my religion is and has always been at the forefront of my campaign. But my fight for re-election isn’t just about me, it’s for ALL of the people who have been denied a seat at the table.

Before I jump into why my fight for Durham is bigger than just my experience, I have a major deadline looming and I need to raise $3,500 to stay on track and maintain the momentum of my campaign. Can you please donate $27 to help me hit my goal and be the leader our community deserves? >>

John, my commitment to run for office is fueled by people in my life who have empowered me to use my voice to fight for a progressive future:

People like my parents. As immigrants from Pakistan and India, my parents faced struggles raising three Muslims girls in a new country that assigned stereotypes to us because of our religion and our background. But that didn’t stop my parents from persevering to achieve the American dream, raising their daughters to cherish and value all people – even when the world isn’t as kind.

People like my sisters. Arsheen and Afreen are doing world-changing work not only revolutionizing the STEM field but breaking down barriers stacked so high against young Muslim women. I could not be more proud of them.

People like Deah, Yusor, and Razan. My three best friends dedicated their lives to serving their community. When they were killed in an anti-Muslim hate crime, I was left heartbroken. But I was encouraged by their families to continue their legacies by amplifying the voices of unheard communities.

John, these are the stories and experiences that drive my fight for all communities whose struggles have gone unheard in our government for far too long. My fight is for all of the people silenced by a hate-filled system but I need you in this fight with me if I’m going to win and be the leader for the underrepresented.

Will you please donate $27 to help me raise the $3,500 I need to be the representative my community deserves? Only the help of grassroots supporters like you will help me get across the finish line. So please, give now >>
