Dear John,
As a mom and former English teacher, I know how to spot a bully.
I also know how frustrating it can be to feel like no one sees you or accepts you.
So when I see Congressman Bergman taking time out of his day to vote against things like marriage equality, I can’t help but wonder: Don’t you have anything better to do?
Some politicians spend all of their time trying to interfere in people’s lives instead of helping to improve them.
We all deserve (and are promised) equal protection under the law. Recognizing the dignity of others does nothing to diminish our own.
It’s really that simple.
I’d rather solve problems, not create them. Right now, we need to support the working class, tackle rising prices, and fight against politicians undermining the democracy my husband put his life on the line to defend.
We can either have a representative who spends time trying to dismantle civil liberties and create culture wars, or someone who’s willing to roll up her sleeves and make life better for all Michiganders.
I know which type of leader I’d rather be.
Let’s do this!
Callie Barr
Congressional Candidate for Michigan’s First
P.S. We all know the best way to beat a bully is to outnumber them. That's why I'm relying on grassroots donors to build a strong campaign to defeat Bergman. If you can pitch in to help, we can win!
