Here in my home state of Michigan, thanks to grassroots donations last year, we flipped both the state House and Senate – establishing complete Democratic control for the first time in decades.

With our new Democratic trifecta, we’ve repealed Michigan’s archaic abortion ban, expanded protections for the LGBTQ+ community, lowered costs for families, protected union rights, and so much more. And there’s even more we’re going to accomplish.

This just goes to show what is possible when Democrats win critical state legislative races, but we need to keep it up. That’s why I’m asking you to do everything you can to help me elect Democrats this cycle. We need all hands on deck.

Last year, before Democrats won control of our government here in Michigan, Republicans derailed my people-first agenda at every turn.

The GOP had no interest in protecting freedoms or improving the lives of their constituents. Instead, they voted to strip my powers during the COVID-19 emergency, tried to recall me from office, and gerrymandered our electoral maps to keep themselves in power.

I previously served as the Democratic Minority Leader of the Michigan Senate, so I’ve seen firsthand just how much happens in our statehouses – and how important it is to elect strong Democratic leaders and expand our majorities in states like Michigan.

Real change is possible, but it requires grassroots Democrats in DC and across the country to be a part of our movement. I’m doing everything I can to help elect Democrats down the ballot this cycle – but I can’t do it without you.
