Their parents and families too, who stand by them on their journey, which is still just beginning.
Mae Nan Ellingson who set the stage last week by relaying her historical role as the youngest delegate to the Montana Constitutional Convention in 1972. She told the judge that, at the time, Montana was the only state that had a constitutionally enshrined right to a “clean and healthful climate”, but now Montana’s climate is “neither clean nor healthful.” She stands with these young Montanans in intergenerational solidarity.

These partners have long been doing the work of climate justice in Montana and we cherish their partnership as we support the 16 young plaintiffs seeking justice in the courts.
