PARTNER HIGHLIGHTS

On June 15, the U.S. State Department released its 2023 Trafficking In Persons (TIP) Report ([link removed]) , documenting the efforts of governments around the world to end human trafficking and bring justice to victims.

Human Trafficking Legal Center Founder and President Martina Vandenberg and HU Managing Director, Public Engagement Kehinde Togun co-authored this CNN piece ([link removed]) on the release of the TIP Report and the need to rethink the way we approach the issue of ending human trafficking. HTLC offered additional thoughts ([link removed]) on the TIP Report, and other partners published responses to the report and live reactions from the announcement event, including Equidem ([link removed]) , Freedom Fund ([link removed]) , Global Labor Justice – International Labor Rights Forum ([link removed]) , Greenpeace ([link removed]) , McCain Institute ([link removed]) , and Polaris ([link removed]) .

The Business and Human Rights Resource Center's new report After the Final Whistle ([link removed]) documents the experiences of nearly 80 migrant workers from Qatar who were part of the massive effort to build and staff the infrastructure for the 2022 World Cup, all of whom experienced labor exploitation.

Global Press Journal has launched the Voices of Defiance ([link removed]) project, featuring the personal stories of eleven journalists from around the world, and presenting data from its latest survey on press freedom.

Safer World published a new article ([link removed]-) on the lack of investment in the 'peace' part of the humanitarian-development-peacebuilding nexus.

Equidem's Mustafa Qadri is featured in a Telegraph story ([link removed]) about three migrant workers in Qatar who have been imprisoned since January after they protested being let go from their jobs before their contracts ended.
