Three Charlottesville White Supremacists Sentenced on Riot Charges

On July 19, three members of a California-based white supremacist group known as the Rise Above Movement, were sentenced on riots charges related to the August 2017 “Unite the Right” Rally in Charlottesville. ADL issued the following statement:

“We welcome the sentencing of three members of the white supremacist Rise Above Movement,” said Doron Ezickson, ADL Washington, D.C. Regional Director. “The violent actions of these three individuals serve as a tragic reminder of the consequences of unchecked hate. We applaud the prosecution, law enforcement, the court and the jury for sending a strong message to those who seek to do us harm that hate has no place in our society.”

ADL Statement on Takoma Park Screening of "The Occupation of the American Mind"

Last week, the city of Takoma Park in Maryland sponsored a screening of a film on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Prior to the screening, ADL Washington, D.C. Regional Director Doron F. Ezickson issued this statement:

“The Occupation of the American Mind presents an egregious mischaracterization as to the motives of American support for Israel, and is decidedly one-sided in its portrayal of the complex Israeli-Palestinian conflict. While we acknowledge the right to criticize policies or actions of the State of Israel, the decision of the City of Takoma Park to sponsor a screening of this film is irresponsible, and does a disservice to the community."
