Last night, Kevin McCarthy and the House GOP voted to officially censure Rep. Adam Schiff for leading the investigations that held Donald Trump accountable for his many, many crimes and abuses of power.

Let me be crystal clear:

Kevin McCarthy is a spiteful coward who punishes anyone that successfully exposes his weak leadership and stands up to Trump's lies.

McCarthy has already made it obvious that I'm one of his top-priority targets in Congress this cycle. This is exactly the kind of spineless behavior that led him to kick me off the House Foreign Affairs Committee earlier this year.

The political attacks on anyone who challenges McCarthy and Trump's MAGA agenda are just beginning — which is why our movement needs to be ready for everything the right wing throws our way in the year ahead.

Doing that takes a lot of resources, so I'm asking you today:

With all of the problems America is facing today — incredible levels of wealth and income inequality, the student debt crisis, gun violence, climate change, and so much more — this is how the GOP chooses to govern.

McCarthy's vengeful attacks on elected officials because Trump got his feelings hurt are pathetic. They're beneath the dignity of Congress.

I know that so long as we continue to stand together, we will always fight back against them and win.
