Friend,
I hope you saw my email on Tuesday about the dangers posed to animals if the Ending Agricultural Trade Suppression (EATS) Act is included in this year’s Farm Bill.
I told you about how the EATS Act could wipe out critical animal protection laws at the state level—laws that the Humane Society Legislative Fund fought so hard to pass. Your gift of $20 or more to the HSLF today will help us stop this inhumane measure on Capitol Hill and support all our work to defend animals. ([link removed])

But there’s more. Unfortunately, the EATS Act doesn’t just threaten animals—it could hurt people, too. Because the EATS Act targets laws passed at the state level, it could invalidate other crucial protections on issues such as pesticide application on fields, arsenic in food, lead poisoning, chemicals in baby food, pollution standards for spraying sewage on crops, flammability standards for cigarettes, and child labor.
Friend, we cannot let this bill become law. If we don’t fight back, millions of animals and people could suffer. Please join this fight with your contribution of $20 or more to HSLF to help innocent animals right away. ([link removed]) We need all animal advocates to step forward today to help us stop this senseless and reckless policy and to take a stand for all animals who need protection.
Thank you,
