Hi John,
I’m excited to share some great new features we’ve been working on for the last few months! Read about these new features below, and please respond to this email if you have any questions.
Update to Collect and Store step for mobile ladders
Now you can easily filter activists in your mobile ladders by whether or not they responded to your mobile message. For example, your Ladder could include a Collect and Store step where you ask an activist for their email address, and Action Network will create a Yes path and No path automatically based on whether a response was stored. This allows you to more easily follow up with activists who haven’t responded and move on with those who have!
You can also validate mobile responses and send a follow up automatically in the same ladder step. For example, if you reach out and ask someone if they’d prefer to volunteer or donate and they respond with “new number who dis?”, we won’t store their response — instead, you can follow up with a message like: “Did you mean volunteer or donate?”
Be sure to update your existing Ladders to incorporate this new feature! Click

View all keywords associated with your short code or toll free number
This is super useful if you share a short code or toll free number with multiple groups. You can now view the keywords associated with that number, with a link to each keyword’s action. No more guessing which keywords are already in use!
Other updates worth noting
- You can now send emails and mobile messages by timezone, east to west. This feature is useful for partners with very large lists who may want to send out an urgent message at the end of day and ensure their activists see it before they log off for the evening. -
We’ve created a new setting that allows you to prevent ad hoc field creation / blank questions via the Form Builder. With this setting enabled, users will need to work via the Questions and Custom Fields page, create a question, and then use the question library to proceed.
-
You can now drag and drop the order of fields when creating questions on the Questions and Custom Fields page.
-
We’ve made speed improvements to the targeting page load times and the Mobile Inbox/Organizer View pages.
-
We’ve introduced easier reporting on Twilio segments by providing an estimate of the number of segments per mobile send in the mobile report.
As with all our new features, these were chosen, brainstormed, and paid for by our Development Partners at the AFL-CIO, Daily Kos, the DNC, and the Canadian Labour Congress — read more about our cooperative development process here.

I’m filling in for Mari on these deploy emails while she’s on parental leave! Have a question or comment? Feel free to reply to this email, and I’ll get back to you.
Take care,
