VIDEO OF THE DAY: Marjorie Taylor Greene & Lauren Boebert fight explodes onto House floor
Oh my fricking god, Becky, did you hear that Marjorie Taylor Greene called Lauren Boebert a "little bitch" in front of the whole school because Lauren totally stole her idea to impeach Joe Biden and then was talking smack about her behind her back even though Marjorie totally helped her, like, raise money, and stuff? And then Lauren said they're not friends anymore then Marjorie said they were NEVER friends in the first place! [RETWEET THAT!]

Court knocks down Florida's ban on gender-affirming care
“Gender identity is real. The record makes this clear,” declared U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle in a monumental win for the trans community. Hinkle ruled that Florida cannot deny gender-affirming care to its 9,000 or so transgender enrollees on Medicaid, correctly pointing out that “there is no rational basis for a state to categorically ban these treatments or exclude them from the state’s Medicaid coverage" and that this ban is just "purposeful" discrimination. Hopefully many more judges across the country will follow suit and restore lifesaving gender-affirming care to all trans Americans. [RETWEET THAT!]

It’s time to end Ivy League legacy admissions for GOOD
Exclusion U: Legacy admissions are nothing but institutionalized nepotism, allowing the spoiled scions of the rich and famous to coast their way through life while more deserving, hard-working students are left out in the cold — and to make matters worse, these institutions receive huge sums of taxpayer dollars. Will you add your name to demand an end this corrupt and unfair practice?
House GOP votes to censure Schiff over role in Trump investigations
For those keeping track at home, Donald Trump was held liable for sexual assault and defamation, indicted on 37 federal counts, barred from operating a charity in his home state, and his company was found guilty of a 15-year tax evasion scheme. House Republicans — you know, the self-proclaimed "law and order party" — responded by symbolically punishing the Democrat investigating his crimes. Schiff treated the ordeal with all the seriousness it deserved, saying “As [Franklin D.] Roosevelt said, sometimes you can judge a person by the enemies they make. Judging from the kind of crazy people that were on the floor today in support of this resolution, I’m doing really well measured by that standard.”

GOP, Dems spar over special counsel John Durham's report over Russia, Donald Trump
In what is becoming a very familiar sight, the House hearing on Trump lawyer John Durham's fruitless effort to prove bias behind the Trump-Russia probe appeared to take place in two separate realities. Democrats concerned themselves with actual reality, in which Durham is a partisan hack appointed by Trump's AG for the express purpose of delegitimizing the Trump-Russia probe while Republicans collapsed face-first into their fainting couches in their hysterical efforts to paint the FBI as some kind of Gestapo-like secret police that could be investigating anyone at anytime on the orders of Hillary Clinton, EVEN YOU.

House GOP fumes as the right goes “rogue” on impeachment
Kevin McCarthy was forced to sadly wipe off the whiteboard and write "0 DAYS WITHOUT GOP INFIGHTING" as his caucus once again was at each other's throats on Wednesday, this time over impeaching President Biden. Rep. Lauren Boebert is trying to force an impeachment vote, others want the committee process and their fake investigations to play out first, and others want to not waste time on stupid show votes but get back to the important issues on the GOP agenda, like taking away lunch from poor children. "They are just using [these motions] for raising campaign cash," complained one House Republican.. Uhhhhhhhhhhhh, YA THINK?
Biden calling China’s leader a "dictator" opens new rift just after Blinken’s tensions-easing trip
Barely a day after Secretary Blinken returned from China on a diplomatic mission to ease ties after the escalation of the Balloon Incident, President Biden called Xi Jinping a "dictator." This was not appreciated by Beijing, which called Biden's statements “extremely absurd and irresponsible," and likely not appreciated by Blinken, who had to suffer all that jetlag just to be sent back to square one the minute he got home.

Mark Zuckerberg is ready to fight Elon Musk in a cage match
After Elon Musk recently tweeted that he would be “up for a cage fight” with Zuckerberg, the Meta CEO shot back by posting a screenshot of Musk’s tweet with the caption “send me location.” While it's impossible to think either of them would ever force themselves to endure even a moment of physical discomfort, watching these two pasty nerds fight each other could very well be the funniest event in American history.
Kari Lake has basically moved in with Donald Trump
Adrift with no governorship and nothing to do, Kari Lake has been spending all her time at Mar-a-Lago, to the point where she's there more often than Melania is. Perhaps she didn't think she was delusional enough and needed to take a course at the academy to really get the brain worms wriggling.

Today’s Action: Tell Congress to protect trans people and pass LGBTQ+ protections now!
Anti-LGBTQ+ legislation is at an all-time high as bigots across the country openly advocate for the ostracization and condemnation of one of America’s most vulnerable communities, leaving many residents desperate to relocate. Transgender people are at the center of the vitriol as state legislatures across the country debate their very right to exist. It is our duty to protect this community from what is increasingly being called a transgender genocide. It’s appalling that these deeply dangerous and wholly unnecessary attacks pass for actual governance in 2023, in what is supposed to be a “free” nation.
The ability to persecute others is not something that makes America “free.” What is important is the ability for all, regardless of identity, to live an equitable life. We have a very long way to go towards achieving that goal. The fact is, conservatives have been scapegoating and persecuting the oppressed for centuries — and doing so under the guise of religious freedom.
Despite Democrats’ best effort to pass the Equality Act last congressional session, our elected officials have yet to deliver wide-reaching protections for LGBTQ+ people. With the onslaught of laws targeting LGBTQ+ freedoms, targeted mass shootings, and the deeply troubling rise in hate crimes, we simply can’t wait any longer to secure protections for our marginalized communities.
We must not allow protections for the LGBTQ+ community — ESPECIALLY transgender people — to fall by the wayside. Whether by reviving the Equality Act or putting forth new legislation, we must act swiftly. Every second Congress waits puts another person at risk.
Email or call (202.224.3121) your members of Congress and tell them to deliver federal LGBTQ+ protections as soon as possible!
