Good news from our anti-trafficking fight.

John,

Thanks to our community of allies, we have good news to share!

Last year, we completed the first-ever National Survivor Study (NSS)

. This year, we’re empowering survivors to share what we learned and creating change.

From a Congressional briefing at the U.S. Capitol to a corporate forum in Atlanta, we’ve brought the experiences and voices of survivors to influential audiences who need to hear them, including:

Elected officials and policymakers;

Leaders of government agencies; and

Corporate executives.

In Washington, DC: Ashley Maha’a — a survivor leader and subject-matter expert — presented the NSS findings. The powerful results helped to reinforce our federal policy priorities

for this Congress.

In Atlanta, Georgia: A survivor-led panel drove the conversation. We also co-hosted a corporate panel to explore how businesses can minimize barriers survivors face when applying for a job and in the workplace. See media coverage here!

That’s not all. Here’s another celebration: Nonechka USA is growing!

We’ve expanded our communications platform for farmworkers and the organizations serving them. After piloting Nonechka

in Mexico, we’ve expanded and adapted it for workers in the U.S.

Take a look at Nonechka’s expanding support for workers:

The stories and data we collect through Nonechka help us connect workers with direct support — such as the National Human Trafficking Hotline, healthcare services, legal aid, and case management for survivors.

Nonechka is also supporting advocacy, as we partner with worker and immigrant rights groups. It has supported recent changes that protect migrant workers who report workplace violations and who help with investigations.

These are just a few snapshots from our progress to end trafficking. Together, our work continues.
