** New data and a call for action on Tiger Day ([link removed])

For Global Tiger Day 2019 in July, we released updated interactive maps of tiger crime incidents and facilities keeping them in captivity, giving insights into the existential crisis currently facing Asian big cats.

As well as outlining ongoing threats, our special blog looked ahead to the actions we want to see from CITES later this month.

And our Tiger Campaign's work featured in Counting Tigers: A Survival Special, aired on ITV in the UK on 30 July – you can watch the programme online ([link removed]) in August.

** Vietnam must act now on environmental crime ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------

Vietnam has become a global hub for illegal wildlife trade but its Government has so far failed to respond effectively. Ahead of a major CITES meeting in Geneva from 17 August, we released the new report Running Out of Time to put attention on Vietnam.

** EU's deforestation vow ([link removed])

We welcomed the European Commission’s long-awaited communication recognising forests are indispensable and urging that consumption of products from deforestation-free supply chains in the EU should be encouraged both via regulatory and other measures.
