Hi John,

I'm so sorry! I was really excited and eager to share the previous email with you, that I forgot to double check all the links were working.

Sorry for any confusion caused. The button below should now work.

Hi John,

Right now parts of northern India are enduring scorching heat waves that have already killed 166 people [1]. In the UK, sea temperatures have reached an all-time high since records began, putting immense stress on marine plants and wildlife [2].

We cannot allow extreme events like these to become normal - for a better, safer tomorrow, we need to take action today.

Last week we launched a new short film Don’t Stop highlighting how oil companies are destroying the hopes of young people and driving the world to the brink. Today I’m asking you to add your name to a movement rising up against them.

2022 was a record breaking year. The world suffered some of its deadliest wildfires, droughts, heatwaves, hurricanes and typhoons. Meanwhile, oil companies enjoyed their highest ever profits.

We know we need a massive decline in carbon emissions to stabilise our climate; what we’re actually seeing is record levels of carbon emissions. Yet oil companies show no intention of stopping. Just last week, Shell dropped a key target to reduce oil production, prioritising profits over protecting our planet [3].

The only way for us to stop their recklessness is to get organised, to force our leaders to bring the fossil fuel industry under control. It’s time politicians put the wellbeing of young people at the heart of decision making.

We need our movement to be bigger, stronger, louder. Are you in?

Our film Don’t Stop is ultimately a story of hope: it points to the power in all of us to turn things around. We have the solutions, we have the technology - we can fix this.

Thanks for everything you do,

Debbie
