Case of note: KC v. Dr. Edward Gaynor (High Court, 20 April 2023 – Judge Howells)

In this case, the court considered whether a GP with a quarter century experience had been negligent in failing to refer a non-registered patient to hospital for further investigations, instead wrongly diagnosing a haematoma of the groin. The practitioner was acquitted, in what can be seen as a classic demonstration of the Bolam test in practice. Read more about this case.

Supporting National Thrombosis week

In the last decade, we documented 687 closed claims on thrombosis. Our blog provides access to our thrombosis digital resource, identifying important actions that can prevent patient harm and future claims. Read our blog.
