Here’s how the FEC is M.I.A.

Sign today to tell leaders in the Senate to help get the FEC back on track!

“The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has been shut down for far too long. Election season is about to be in full swing, and our nation’s election watchdog is nowhere to be found. New commissioners must be nominated swiftly, and Senate leadership must only confirm those who are dedicated to enforcing the law. We need a working FEC now.”

John,

It’s now been 166 days since our nation’s election watchdog, the Federal Election Commission (FEC), effectively shut down.

What’s even scarier? While the FEC is unable to act, more than 300 casesabout three dozen of which involve alleged foreign interference in U.S. elections — can’t be resolved until the agency is back up and running.

We need a functional FEC now. Agree? Sign our petition today to tell the Senate to act!

Because the FEC is effectively shut down, it’s unable to take enforcement actions against those who violate the nation’s campaign finance laws, craft new rules, issue legal guidance to candidates or political groups, or hold public meetings — eight of which were canceled in 2019 alone.

That is completely unacceptable. Our elections are in jeopardy when the agency charged with monitoring them isn’t doing its job.

Action is needed now. Add your name to demand it.

Thank you for all you do,
