I wish I could say I was surprised, John, but here it is: More allegations of serious, open corruption just broke about our Supreme Court.
Justice Samuel Alito accepted private jet trips and expensive Alaskan fishing vacations from a right-wing billionaire, Paul Singer, who later had business before the court. ProPublica reported that Alito not only hid this information from the public, he also refused to recuse himself from cases involving this billionaire!! 🤦🏾♂️
The radical, far-right majority on the Supreme Court is determined to take away our rights, restrict our freedoms, and prevent progress across the government from taking place — all while acting in blatantly corrupt ways that would be illegal for anybody else in the government. They’ve eroded almost all the Court’s legitimacy, John.
The *first* step should be forcing the Court to stick to a code of ethics, but we can’t stop there. We should investigate the allegations against all these Supreme Court justices, and if necessary, we should impeach them for corruption.
This is what we should be pushing for nationally. I’m ready to fight for our freedoms against this radical court. If you can today, chip in so that I can keep up this fight every day in Congress.
This out-of-control Supreme Court needs a progressive movement to stand up to their bullshit and demand they respect the will of the people. Their radical rulings and their unethical behavior are all part of the same story — they think they are above the norms, ethics, and public opinion that should guide the rest of us. That’s why I’m starting by calling for investigations into their out-of-control corruption.
