Hi there, friend.

I’m Rep. Colin Allred, and I’m running to beat Ted Cruz and represent Texas in the U.S. Senate.

I've always been a big reader. Growing up, my world was pretty small. I used to treat our local bookstore like a library, sitting there for hours, reading books cover to cover because I wasn’t able to buy them.

Reading opened my eyes to new perspectives, far-off places, and different career opportunities – it helped me dream big. Our kids deserve the same opportunity to learn and grow through books, but Ted Cruz and the GOP are fighting to ban books about anything that doesn't align with their far-right agenda.

My colleague Rep. Eric Sorensen is familiar with the extreme right’s attack on schools and libraries, and their censorship of LGBTQ authors and stories. Eric’s been a leading voice on this issue, and we need to follow his example and take a stand against all far-right book bans, including those Ted Cruz supports.

That's part of why I'm running to defeat Ted Cruz – to stop the Republicans' outrageous censorship and attacks on our kids' education. But I have to raise $50,000 every single day to power this campaign against Ted Cruz.

Will you please split a donation of $3 today between our campaign and Rep. Eric Sorensen’s to help send me to the Senate? →

Experts agree we have a real chance to win this thing: CNN says Ted Cruz is the most vulnerable Republican senator on the ballot, and we're just five points down in the polls. I know in my bones Texans are sick and tired of Ted Cruz and ready for change.

But this is already on track to be one of the most competitive and expensive races in the country, and I'm counting on grassroots Democrats like you to be by my side every step of the way.

So please, before my midnight fundraising deadline, will you split a donation of $3 or more between our campaign and Rep. Eric Sorensen’s to help me defeat Ted Cruz and flip Texas blue? →

Every dollar makes a difference – thank you so much for giving what you can.
