Hunter Biden has agreed to plead guilty to a couple of misdemeanor charges on taxes and a gun felony.

He will do no jail time because that’s the way our justice system works.

According to The Washington Post, Biden “agreed to enter a Pretrial Diversion Agreement with respect to the firearm Information.” In other words, he is essentially going to receive no jail time and, instead, go on probation for a while. Any proposed plea deal would have to be approved by a federal judge.

What is most likely happening here? The cynic might say that the DOJ is not hitting Hunter Biden with the book and going out of the way to hit him for a couple of tax infractions and a gun charge in order to avoid delving deeper into the alleged corrupt scheme that involved Hunter Biden and Joe Biden and Ukrainian money flowing into the Biden family coffers.

Hunter Biden does no time. He serves a probationary period. Everything is hunky-dory. And we all just go about our business and pretend that the DOJ is absolutely enforcing the law in an evenhanded fashion.

Biden was doing drugs and testified on a form that he was not a drug addict when he obtained the gun. They’re saying he didn’t know what he was doing; therefore, he’s going to be sent to a diversion program. I suppose that means everyone who lies on that form and is a drug abuser should be sent to a diversion program as opposed to jail.

According to POLITICO:

On Oct. 23, 2018, President Joe Biden’s son Hunter and daughter in law Hallie were involved in a bizarre incident in which Hallie took Hunter’s gun and threw it in a trash can behind a grocery store, only to return later to find it gone. … But a curious thing happened at the time: Secret Service agents approached the owner of the store where Hunter bought the gun and asked to take the paperwork involving the sale, according to two people, one of whom has firsthand knowledge of the episode and the other was briefed by a Secret Service agent after the fact.

The gun store owner refused to supply the paperwork, suspecting that the Secret Service officers wanted to hide Hunter’s ownership of the missing gun in case it were to be involved in a crime, the two people said. The owner, Ron Palmieri, later turned over the papers to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, which oversees federal gun laws.

The Secret Service says it has no record of its agents investigating the incident, and Joe Biden, who was not under protection at the time, said through a spokesperson he has no knowledge of any Secret Service involvement.

It’s mysterious as to what exactly the Secret Service was doing. We are still not going to get to the bottom of whether the Secret Service tried to clean up Hunter Biden’s problems.

Delaware State Police retrieved security camera footage from the store and interviewed store management. The FBI also responded to the scene. At the time, the FBI was still monitoring Hunter Biden because of the tax investigation.

All of this is now going to result in Hunter not going to jail and just getting probation for a couple of years.

Why, it sounds like just what would happen if Hunter Biden were a poor person.

If Hunter Biden were a poor, unconnected person, this is probably exactly what would happen to him: He would fail to pay his taxes, amounting to $1.2 million for two years, and then he would be high and sign some gun forms and then have his girlfriend throw away the gun and then activate Secret Service to clean it up. And then he would not serve jail time.

That’s exactly what would happen if it were you.

Joe Biden has been lying about this for years. He said Hunter is the smartest person he knows and he’s done nothing wrong: “I trust him, I have faith in him.”

Hunter is going to have to tell his dad something because he did a lot of things wrong.

Quick reminder: If you are a law-abiding, gun-owning American citizen, you’re a danger to the Republic, according to Joe Biden.

You’re a problem because you have an AR-15 in your house. That’s something that you should not be able to have, even though you’re law-abiding and you’ve done nothing wrong.

Ep. 1751 - Hunter Escapes Justice

Hunter Biden gets a slap on the wrist for tax evasion and a gun felony, while debate rages over whether the DOJ has already ended its other investigations into his nefarious activities; the trial judge sets a date in Donald Trump’s own criminal case; and the origins of covid finally begin to emerge in earnest.

LISTEN NOW

On the other hand, Hunter Biden as a crack addict bought a gun by falsely filling out a form and then his girlfriend tossed it in a garbage can across the street from a high school.

There isn’t enough here for the DOJ to charge Hunter Biden? They should throw the book at him the same way that they are presumably going to throw the book at Donald Trump. You either throw the book at everybody or you throw the book at nobody.

People on the Left are now going to use this as the predicate to suggest that the Justice Department is doing the fair thing after all with Trump because they charged Hunter Biden.

They’re not throwing the book at Hunter. They’re letting him off the hook.

The case to be made for Hunter’s legal team is that they cooperated with law enforcement. And as soon as this happened, Hunter Biden did what he was supposed to do; he shut up and said to his legal team, “Go clean this up for me,” which they did.

Again, I have grave suspicions, and I’m very cynical about the outcome of this particular case. But when juxtaposed with the behavior of President Trump, who is not taking the advice of his legal team, it shows Trump’s not employing a smart strategy.

Two things can be true. One: The DOJ can be deeply affected by politics and corruption. Two: The smart thing to do is listen to your lawyers.
