We need your help. Tomorrow, the U.S. Senate will vote on a dangerous resolution that would overturn a life-saving regulation on stabilizing braces for pistols. These braces are deadly modifications that can effectively turn semi-automatic pistols into a short-barreled rifle: a weapon that has the concealability and maneuverability of a pistol, but the firepower, accuracy, and lethality of a rifle . That’s why arm-stabilized pistols are increasingly a weapon of choice for mass shooters . And it’s why we need you to take urgent action and tell Senators Fetterman and Casey to vote NO on this reckless resolution.

In just 32 seconds, a gunman in Dayton, Ohio killed 9 people and injured 27 others using one of these brace-modified pistols . [1] Stabilizing braces act as a legal loophole that functionally transforms pistols into easily concealable short-barreled rifles – but without the federal regulations on these especially dangerous firearms.
Mass shooters have knowingly taken advantage of this loophole. Firearms with attached stabilizing braces were also used by a gunman who killed 10 people at a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado. [2]
Most recently, a brace-modified firearm was used in a school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, which took the lives of 3 children and 3 adults. [3]
The existing regulations, set by the Biden administration, would require anyone who has a gun with an arm-stabilizing brace to register the weapon and pay a fee – a standard and long-standing process under the National Firearms Act. This gun lobby-backed resolution would overturn these regulations, making it easier for shooters to exploit this loophole and access deadly, concealable weapons.
