John:
In a recent interview with The Advocate, Vice President Harris spoke about the anti-trans bills sweeping the country. She continued, saying "the true measure of strength is not based on who you knock down. It’s based on who you lift up."
She's right. Every American, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. But right now, trans and LGBTQ+ people are facing an unprecedented wave of hate. Over 530 anti-LGBTQ bills were introduced this year - and over 75 were signed into law!
If we are going to repeal the hateful wave of anti-LGBTQ legislation and protect trans kids, we have to roll up our sleeves and get to work. That's why for Give Out Day - the only national day of giving for the LGBTQ+ community - we're going to raise $10,000 to expand our Candidate & Campaign Trainings and Leadership Summits. We need more LGBTQ+ people in public office, and Victory Institute will train them to win. If you agree with Vice President Harris, make a donation today!
Look, it's clear these bigots think demonizing trans people and attacking LGBTQ+ rights is a winning strategy. While they're in power, our community won't be safe. That's why we must train LGBTQ+ leaders who will fight their hate with pride. We need leaders who will preserve LGBTQ+ equality, not dismantle it for cheap political points.
That's why we host trainings in states like Florida, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas. We want to build LGBTQ+ political power in states with low levels of representation - and a high number of anti-LGBTQ bills. We're not afraid to take the fight to these bigots - and we're training their replacements right in their backyard.
We have to listen to Vice President Harris's advice. This is not the time to sit on the fence - it's time to lift each other up and defend each other. So make a special Give Out Day donation now to train the next rainbow wave of LGBTQ+ leaders to win!
Thank you for supporting our work,
Elliot Imse
