My name is Matt Cartwright, and I'm a representative for Pennsylvania's 8th Congressional District.

I've spent my entire career sticking up for working people, but I'm not a career politician. Before coming to Congress, I worked as a trial attorney fighting for working folks in Scranton. But in 2012, I knew I could do more good serving the hardworking people of Northeastern Pennsylvania in Congress.

I'm proud of the work I've done for Northeastern Pennsylvanians, but I know there's much more that needs to be accomplished. People are facing hard times, and we need leaders to put people first, not the special interests or the well-connected. That's why I'm running for re-election, and I have another tough fight ahead of me.

I'm one of five Democrats who won a House seat in a district Donald Trump carried in 2020. Last year, Republicans spent millions to try and defeat me, but thanks to grassroots support, we were able to win one of the closest races in the country by just 2.4%.

But now, election experts are already calling our race a "toss-up." The National Republican Congressional Committee named my seat a top target, and dark money groups have already launched false TV ads attacking me.

If we're going to retake the House majority, we need to keep Pennsylvania's 8th District blue – but we have a long and tough road ahead of us. I can't win again without your support.
