Fellow Democrats, last week, the Will County Board scheduled a vote to honor Moms for America, an organization designated as a hate group by the widely respected Southern Poverty Law Center.

The sponsor of the resolution, a Republican Will County Board Member, claimed he wanted to recognize the work they do to “promote families.”

Local Republicans continue to feed their message of hate as they openly support honoring known hate groups like Moms for America. Can you pitch in $10 today to help us defend our communities from the growing threat of local GOP extremists?

This group epitomizes the hate and fear the Republican movement has towards LGBTQ+ people. They are using tactics like banning books and wrongly labeling education on LGBTQ+ topics as “grooming” or “sexual indoctrination" to undo our progress on equality.

Let’s be clear: Moms for America’s work has about as much to do with promoting families as the rocks segregationists threw at Ruby Bridges.

Here’s the rest of the back story. The vote to honor this hate group was scheduled to take place at the same time the Will County Board was voting to recognize Pride Month and Juneteenth. Facing outrage from the community for placing a hate group on the same level as two nationally-recognized celebrations, the board’s Republican leaders pulled the vote from the agenda. Turns out adding this group to the agenda was the “poison pill” to halt the recognition of Pride Month and Juneteenth.

Illinois’ Democratic County Chairs and their County Parties are fighting against extremists like this across our state year-round, and they need your support. Will you donate $10 right now to help defeat extremists?
