WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE OFFICE?

The Data Team is working very hard to print all the pre-filled Vote By Mail forms for every precinct in the county.  We are now starting to organize volunteers to go knock on the doors of fellow Democrats and ask them the sign up for Vote By Mail.  If you would like to help us with this important initiative, please email Stacey at [email protected].

The Voter Protection team is hard at work preparing for Poll Watching for early voting in the Presidential Primary.  More details are in the newsletter below.

The Precinct Taskforce is busy planning the Saturday, February 22nd Precinct Captain Training.

GALA UPDATE

The 2020 Blue Gala is a week and half away! It will be a fun evening with dancing, music by the Jordan Thomas Odyssey orchestra, free valet parking and a full, open bar.

Ambassador Christopher Hill will be the Gala’s distinguished guest speaker. Ambassador Hill was former ambassador to Iraq, South Korea, Poland and Macedonia, as well as Special Envoy to Kosovo.  Ambassador Hill was a member of the team that negotiated the Bosnia peace settlement. In 2005, he was named head of the US delegation to the six party talks to resolve the North Korea nuclear crisis.  He also served as Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs for which his portfolio included U.S.-China relations.  Florida Democratic Chair, Terrie Rizzo, will be also be joining us for the evening.

This is the launch of setting our 2020 Vision on reclaiming the White House.  This is an event to be remembered! Democratic turnout is crucial to helping support our mission.  Thank you to all of you who have bought tickets!

GALA AUCTION SNEAK PEEK

There will be a lot of wonderful silent auction items at the 2020 Blue Gala!  Wondering what kind of items?  Well, here are a couple of sneak peeks:

  • Cruise Package.  Ever want to take a cruise on Indian River with 5 of your closest friends?  Did we mention there will be chocolate and champagne?  The trip is yours if you are the highest bidder of the Champagne to Chocolate Cruise for six!

  • Baseball Fans.  Have you heard of Pitching Ace and Legend Sandy Koufax?  He was a 12 season pitcher for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers in the major leagues and inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.  He was kind enough to sign a baseball for our auction.  What a great item to show all your friends!

We will also be conducting a training for poll watchers on March 1, 2020 at 1 pm at the DCC headquarters at 2345 14th Ave. in Vero Beach.

Unfortunately that is the only date we will be training, locally.  If you absolutely cannot attend that training, there are other options we can share with you.
