The Writers Guild of America and the Writers Guild of America East have been on strike since early May. You may have seen clips of the picket lines across the nation, noticed some of your favorite talk shows are suddenly off the air, or read on social media that hit TV shows and movies have stalled production for the time being. 

 

But, what is the strike actually about?

 

It’s simple. The writers are fighting for the same things we all want: fair pay, job security, and quality healthcare.

 

You have way more in common with the workers on strike right now than you do with the greedy executives who are trying to maximize their own profits at the expense of writers. Which is why we need to pressure entertainment CEOs to come to the table and secure a fair deal with the Writers Guild so the writers can get back to work on the shows we love!
