Charge Screening Tool, Keep Your Benefits, Now in Chinese!
Last
fall, the Immigration Advocates Network launched Keep Your Benefits with our
partners at the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County, and the Protecting
Immigrant Families coalition. This week we launched a Chinese language version
of the site. Keep Your Benefits features plain language information and an
interactive guide to help immigrants in California keep their benefits. It
counters the confusion caused by proposed changes, and reiterates that most
immigrants are not even eligible for the benefits that would affect an
immigration application. Look for updates in the weeks ahead, as the State
Department plans to revise it's form and process, to align with the new rules.
Check out Keep Your Benefits! And let us know if you'd like to create a version for your state. We would love to work with you.
Citizenshipworks: Alert and Response
With rapidly changing information on fee waivers and the N-400
form fee, Citizenshipworks has been keeping our community informed. We sent
short, clear messages to help people understand the changes to the fee waiver,
encouraged them to apply, and invited them to connect to free legal help.
Through this campaign we received six to eight times more inquiries than usual,
in the weeks following our fee-related messages. Join Citizenshipworks and our partners at the New Americans
Campaign, as we work together to inform and engage prospective applicants.
Here's how you can get involved:
