** As The Dude likes to say, just chill out man...

Fox News ([link removed]) (6/21/23) op-ed: "For years, I have maintained that a percentage of far-left activists would often rather 'protest life than live life.' It is easy to imagine that after failure in their own lives, the only way some of these activists can feel 'relevant' is to protest… anything. But at what point, do such protests actually prove massively counterproductive to the welfare of humanity? I would cite the 'Just Stop Oil' movement in Europe and spreading to the United States as a prime example of the unintended negative consequences of 'good intentions.' As in, unimaginably horrible consequences for the greater good of humanity should their far-left activist utopian pipe dream ever come to fruition...Again, as we could honestly teach that 4-year-old, as meticulously outlined in a report from the Institute for Energy Research (IER), 'Nearly every facet of modern developed economies requires
petroleum products and natural gas to function and provide the comfortable lifestyles that citizens of developed countries have come to expect. These resources are necessary for agriculture, heavy industry, transportation by all modes – road, rail, air, or ship – and a great number of the products that we take for granted. They're ingrained in almost everything.' In other words, the industries and farms which sustain all human life on Earth."

** "In seeking to become a cheerleader for net zero, the IEA has allowed itself to be used as a tool for climate policy extremism, has misled policymakers, and has endangered the world’s economy and Western security, forsaking the purpose for which it was created."

This doesn't seem like progress.

(6/20/23) reports: "A fire at an e-bike shop in New York City killed four people near midnight Tuesday morning, the most recent in a rash of deadly explosions and blazes linked to lithium-ion batteries in the city, according to the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) Tuesday. The blaze — which started at HQ E-Bike Repair, the ground floor of a six-story building — spread to the apartments above, leaving an additional two individuals in critical condition and one firefighter with minor injuries, according to FDNY in a series of statements published on Twitter. FDNY Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh said it was “very clear” that the fire was linked to lithium-ion batteries, as she stood in front of what appeared to be dozens of burned scooters and e-bikes, and warned New Yorkers that such devices could be very dangerous and typically exploded in such a way that rendered escape impossible, as opposed to slowly catching on fire. 'We would like to really emphasize today something we have been
saying over and over: While there is tremendous and important regulation that we have conducted with the city council and the mayor’s office, it’s also very, very important we get the word out how incredibly dangerous this is,' Kavanagh said. 'This exact scenario where there is an e-bike store on the first floor and residences above, and the volume of fire created by these lithium-ion batteries is incredibly deadly.' There have been 108 lithium-ion battery fires in the city this year to date, which have injured 66 people and killed 13, FDNY told the Daily Caller News Foundation. The numbers are up significantly across the board compared to the same time last year, when 98 fires had injured 40 and killed two."

Only you can prevent left-wing activists from starting forest fires.

(6/19/23) reports: "Authorities busted a Democratic donor for allegedly starting a "ginormous inferno" in Yosemite National Park. Democratic politicians had insisted climate change was to blame for the blaze, which destroyed more than 100 homes and injured several firefighters in July 2022. Edward Fredrick Wackerman (his actual name) of Mariposa, Calif., faces a number of charges including aggravated arson following his arrest on Friday. The arson suspect has donated $1,775 to Democratic candidates and committees since 2020, government records show, including a $1,000 donation to Tim Ryan's failed U.S. Senate campaign in 2022 and $400 to the Lincoln Project, a disgraced liberal super PAC. The so-called Oak Fire destroyed 127 homes and 66 outbuildings. Roughly 6,000 people were forced to evacuate as the inferno torched 30 square miles of land and smoke from the fire drifted more than 200 miles into parts of Nevada and the San Francisco Bay Area....What they said: 'Thank you to all the
firefighters and first responders working tirelessly under difficult conditions to combat the #OakFire,' Sen. Alex Padilla (D., Calif.) wrote on Twitter on July 25, 2022. 'Worsening drought and severe weather will only continue to put lives and property at risk from wildfire if we don't take climate action NOW.' 'More people will be killed and the survival of our civilization is at stake,' former Vice President Al Gore said on July 24, 2022, citing climate change as the reason "droughts and fires are hitting us so hard.'"

For years, Washington has been living under California's shadow. Now they are finally number one.

(6/20/23) reports: "It may be cold comfort for motorists in California who already pay plenty whenever they go to the gas station but the state of Washington has overtaken the Golden State for the highest price for a gallon of gasoline in the country. Gas prices in Washington have been climbing for months and on Tuesday the statewide average came to $4.825 for a gallon of regular, exceeding California by little more than a penny, according to GasBuddy.com. The prices in the Evergreen State have soared more than $1 per gallon since the start of this year, which coincides with the state implementing a cap and trade program. Passed by the Washington Legislature and signed by Gov. Jay Inslee, what’s been dubbed as the Cap-and-Invest Climate Commitment Act will raise hundreds of millions of dollars by requiring industries in Washington that emit greenhouse gases to buy permits on the carbon pollution they produce. But Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, a tech company that
helps drivers find the cheapest places to buy gas, said the immediate effect has resulted in a higher prices at the pump."
