Featured Funding OpportunitiesWeatherization Assistance Program (WAP)The Weatherization Program assists families and individuals by reducing their heating/cooling costs and improving the safety of their homes through energy efficiency measures. Program services are available to both income-eligible homeowners and renters, with priority given to senior citizens, families with children and persons with disabilities. Owners of buildings occupied by low-income households are encouraged to apply for assistance for their buildings.Energy efficiency measures include air sealing (weather stripping, caulking), attic and wall insulation, heating system improvements or replacement, efficiency improvements in lighting, hot water tank and pipe insulation, and refrigerator replacements with highly efficient Energy Star rated units.Learn more about eligibility here!To apply, identify and contact your local service provider here! Rural Single Family Housing Repair Loans & GrantsAlso known as the Section 504 Home Repair program, this provides loans to very-low-income homeowners to repair, improve or modernize their homes or grants to elderly very-low-income homeowners to remove health and safety hazards.What is an eligible rural area?Utilizing the USDA Eligibility Site, you can enter a specific address for determination or just search the map to review general eligible areas.Applications for this program are accepted through our local RD offices year-round. Learn how to apply here! National Endowment for the Arts - Our TownOur Town is the National Endowment for the Arts’ creative placemaking grants program. Through project-based funding, it supports projects that integrate arts, culture, and design activities into efforts that strengthen communities over the long term.The program demonstrates the ways in which artists, culture bearers, and designers can help to:Bring new attention to or elevate key community assets and issues, voices of residents, local history, or civic infrastructure.Inject new or additional energy, resources, activity, people, or enthusiasm into a place, community issue, or local economy.Connect communities, people, places, and economic opportunity through physical spaces or new partnerships and relationships.Honor traditions shaped by the lived experience of a community’s residents, such as music, dance, design, crafts, fashion, cuisine, and oral expression.Register for informal virtual sessions with office staff to answer questions about submitting a competitive application. Reduction of Truck Emissions at Port Facilities Grant ProgramThis program will provide funding to reduce truck idling and emissions at ports, including through the advancement of port electrification.Eligible uses will include projects that test, evaluate, and deploy projects that reduce port-related emissions through port operations efficiency improvements. Webinar of the WeekInflation Reduction Act Tax Credits for Governments and Nonprofits Webinar!The Inflation Reduction Act created two new credit delivery mechanisms—elective pay (otherwise known as “direct pay”) and transferability—that enable state, local, and Tribal governments; non-profit organizations, and other entities to take advantage of clean energy tax credits. Until the Inflation Reduction Act introduced these new credit delivery mechanisms, governments, many types of tax-exempt organizations, and even many businesses could not fully benefit from tax credits like those that incentivize clean energy construction.Treasury will be hosting a webinar on June 29th at 3pm. Small Business ResourcesNew York State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI)More than $500 million in federal funding is now available to support the resurgence of small businesses across New York State through the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI), a program through the American Rescue Plan Act.SSBCI provides funds to support programs for small businesses, including socially and economically disadvantaged individual (SEDI) owned businesses and very small businesses (VSB), to recover from the economic effects of COVID-19 and allow them opportunity to succeed in the post-pandemic economy. New York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC)The NYSBDC provides small business owners and entrepreneurs in New York with the highest quality, confidential business counseling, training, and business research at no cost.The Albany Small Business Development Center serves small businesses in the Capital Region. Since its start in 1984, the expert advisors of the Albany SBDC have worked directly with 26,807 businesses, helping them to invest $495,947,350 in the area's economy, and create or save 14,766 jobs.You can make and appoint for counseling by calling 518-442-7232 or filling out their online form.
