Hop on a Bus Bound for Philadelphia to Protest Moms for Liberty  

June 28th - June 30th

2. Buffalo NY—Albany NY—New Windsor MD—Philadelphia

Join Defense of Democracy, The Union’s newest partner, on two charter buses traveling to Philadelphia to protest the Moms for Liberty National Summit. June 28-30. Moms For Liberty is a group that is labeled as an extremist group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. They push for bans on books and mislead the public about adopted public approved school curricula. Their values are not consistent with the values we hold in our democracy.  Read more about them here.  

To ensure these extremist views are not normalized, Defense of Democracy is running two charter buses to the Moms for Liberty Summit in Philadelphia.  One leaves from Durham, NC and travels to Philadelphia, PA with stops in Lynchburg, VA and Washington, DC.  The other leaves  from Buffalo, NY and travels to Philadelphia with stops in Albany, NY and New Windsor, MD. Both buses leave on June 28 and return June 30. During your time in Philly you will be making signs and helping people register to vote. Not only will you be able to bring attention to this extreme group, you further enhance democracy by registering people to vote. 

Per DofD founder: "I'm happy to share this bus with other organizations as well, so if you are a member of a group and would like to get a bunch of people on the bus this would be totally acceptable! Please RSVP ASAP HERE it is going to be a BLAST." 

The bus is FREE, and organizers have a block of hotel rooms (even free rooms if you need them).  As space is limited and the time to register is short, please only sign up if you are certain you can attend. 

If you can’t join us for the event, make sure you get involved in your local school board meetings and upcoming school board elections to show support for pro-democracy, pro-public school community members.
