Dear Colleague,
The Human Rights Council will hear from the UN expert on homosexual/trans issues tomorrow in Geneva on his recent religious freedom report. Mr. Victor Madrigal-Borloz says LGBT rights take precedent over religious freedom as it calls on governments to threaten and punish religious leaders and organizations that do not comply with LGBT orthodoxy. Stefano Gennarini, J.D., reports.
Last week the UN held its annual conference on protecting the rights of persons with disabilities. While some good statements were made condemning the use of forced abortion and sterilization against women with disabilities, abortion advocates are trying to hijack disability rights to promote abortion internationally. Rebecca Oas, Ph.D., reports.
Last March, C-Fam partnered with Cameroon on a UN event to raise awareness on the stigma and superstition directed at children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in many developing countries. Many special needs children are abandoned or relinquished to the State due to a lack of available services for families. The UN should be focusing on promoting education campaigns to dispel myths and create a welcoming and inclusive environment where families can access desperately needed therapies and services to help children remain at home. What a shame abortion has become a priority in disability rights!
Yours sincerely,
Lisa Correnti
Executive Vice President
