Last week I voted in favor of H. Res. 826, a resolution to end the Trump Administration's harmful rule that would gut Medicaid. This rule would allow states to weaken the services offered under their Medicaid programs through misguided block grants. 

This policy will deny Medicaid recipients lifesaving medicines, impose unaffordable premiums to maintain coverage and leave more vulnerable families exposed to catastrophic medical bills – with ruinous consequences for rural hospitals, families seeking opioid addiction treatment for their loved ones, and many others. I will work every day to oppose this policy, but I can’t do it without your support. Can you chip in $20 today so I know you have my back?

The resolution I supported to overturn this misguided rule states that:

• The illegal actions taken by the Trump Administration to undermine Medicaid are a cruel attack on a program that provides for the health and well-being for some of our most vulnerable citizens;
• The Administration should immediately withdraw its illegal block grant guidance and cease its campaign to undermine and weaken Medicaid; and
• The Administration should uphold its responsibility to faithfully execute the law, including the Medicaid Act, and cease any and all efforts that threaten the care of the millions of Americans who rely on Medicaid.

I will continue to oppose the Administration’s relentless attacks on Americans’ health care.  I will always fight For The People to lower the cost of prescription drugs and protect individuals with pre-existing conditions from paying more.
