Dear Mr. xxxxxx,
As I begin another busy week in Washington, DC, I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional district, and our country as a whole:
Opposing Biden’s radical CDC director pick
I led 27 of my colleagues last week in demanding that Biden withdraw his CDC director pick, Dr. Mandy Cohen. We oppose his choice to appoint Cohen due to her reckless history of politicizing science, disregarding civil liberties, and spreading misinformation – like the necessity of COVID vaccinations and masking kindergarteners. The American people do not need a Dr. Fauci 2.0 – they need someone they can trust.
No funding for open borders
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) keeps asking Congress for money, but where is it actually going? Definitely not our southern border. As I said on the Trey Ware Show last week, I refuse to support a Homeland Security appropriation bill that continues to leave Texas and our entire country exposed. DHS either needs to do their job or face the power of the purse.
Protecting the 2nd Amendment
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives bypassed Congress and banned the use of pistol braces. The pistol brace is a tool created by veterans to help stabilize a pistol. This ban is a total violation of the Second Amendment and completely circumvents our nation’s legislative process. As I told my colleagues in a hearing last week, the executive branch cannot get away with bypassing Congress on issue after issue. We must hold this administration accountable and defend our Constitution.
America’s flag is our pride flag
Last week, the Biden administration hung a rainbow flag on the White House, casting Old Glory to the side. This was a slap in the face to millions of American men and women who have died for that flag and what it represents. As I said from the House floor, this is despicable. America’s flag means so much more than the radical Leftist ideology wrapped in a rainbow banner. That’s why I co-sponsored the Old Glory Only Act to prohibit hanging any flag other than the American flag from government property. America’s flag is our pride flag – we must protect her at all costs.

Honoring TX-21 firefighter – Captain Stacy Kuhlmann
Captain Stacy Kuhlmann was a revered leader at the Fredericksburg Fire Department, who laid his life on the line for others and served his community with distinction. Team Roy was honored to present a flag flown over the United States Capitol to his family Tuesday morning. Captain Kuhlmann represented the best of District 21. Thank you to his family for letting us be a part of this moment.
