Friend -
I was a musician for 12 years intensely playing jazz and classical with my Grammy nominated brother when we were young. I am an avid movie watcher (way too much including junk). I am also very proud of my Chinese heritage mostly exemplified by my food and movie interests but also my civil rights work for the last 40 years.
Unfortunately the anti-woke, anti-CRT, anti-ESG, anti-Disney, etc…is not a culture war. It is unfortunate how words have meaning no matter how wrongly they are used. The reality is conservative (and at times progressives too) use marketing tactics and narratives to simplify and characterize our political battles as culture when in reality they are talking about how to market to separate us.
Culture should be the way in which we unite. Though the words and smells and sounds are different, there are so many similarities between the common Chinese culture and the common white American culture. We both love fried foods. We both have a long history of brewing our own alcohol. We have a rich history of smoking everything under the sun that can be grown. Our music is from the heart. And our traditions are both steeped in believing in the good of our fellow man.
We at PowerPAC reject the idea that the anti-woke movement is a culture war and more just that it is a marketing tactic.
You might as well draw the line between ketchup and salsa. We seek to unite based on real culture. We will continue the fight to reject these inane marketing ploys by a very small segment of conservatives. We will work to gain the trust of citizens across a spectrum of concerned and caring communities.
At the end of the day our thesis is that we can unite a vast majority of Americans across a broad spectrum. I would be willing to bet a Dim Sum meal that this can become a reality.

PowerPAC is a social justice organization that strategically directs financial and human resources to local and state organizations working to deliver wins in legislative fights, ballot initiatives, and more. For years the money we've raised has, dollar for dollar, been given back to the communities we work with. We've made sure that your investments were being used to build power for our communities because too often we are underrepresented and ignored.
