Hi Friend,

Just last week trans athlete cyclist Austin Killips won the women’s division of a North Carolina race — crossing the finish line a full five minutes before the female runner up.

Reasonable people understand: this isn’t fair. And, yet, the media portray athletes like Killips and swimmer Lia Thomas as heroes who are breaking down barriers — rather than as opportunists who are stealing women’s titles. Thankfully, Independent Women’s Law Center and Independent Women’s Forum have gathered all of the information you need to rebuff such nonsense.
GET THE FACTS
Because you are a loyal Independent Women's Forum supporter, we’re giving you the opportunity to be one of the first to hear about the newly released second edition of Competition: Title IX, Male-Bodied Athletes, and the Threat To Women’s Sports. In the report, you will:

—Meet brave female athletes, such as swimmer Riley Gaines, volleyball player Payton McNabb, and runner Chelsea Mitchell, who are speaking out about their negative experiences competing against biological males;

—Get the facts about the male athletic advantage;

—Learn about the rapidly changing legal landscape of single-sex athletics; and

—Get to know some of the policy makers standing up for women’s sports.
READ THE REPORT
Among the report’s key findings:
  • There has been a steady increase in the number of males competing in women’s sports.

  • Allowing males to play women’s sports is unfair because of the incontrovertible male athletic advantage.
    • Male bodies carry some athletic advantages over female bodies even in early childhood;
    • The 20-fold boost in testosterone that occurs during male puberty creates a significant, and lasting, athletic advantage for males;
    • Hormone therapy does not alter skeletal architecture (height, wing span, bone geometry, hand size, etc.);
    • Muscle memory allows even males whose muscle strength is somewhat reduced after hormone therapy to regain their athletic advantage when training to compete; and
    • Males maintain a significant advantage in speed over biological females even after years of hormone therapy.

  • Allowing hormonally impaired males to take titles from female athletes makes a mockery of women’s sports.

  • Allowing a single male to play on a competitive women’s team takes opportunities from female athletes.

  • The Biden administration’s misapplication of Supreme Court precedent threatens to undermine the entire legal edifice of single-sex athletics.
We hope this report proves useful to all those who care about protecting women’s sports. Because, the bottom line is: when biological men compete as women, female athletes lose.
Sincerely,
Jennifer C. Braceras
