Hey team — We wanted to make sure you saw this news from last week about Pat’s work to curb the gun violence epidemic.
Nothing is more important to Pat than to keep our families safe, and that means taking bold action to take weapons of war off our streets, pass background checks, and more.

Team —
Last week, I spent time with survivors from Uvalde, Newtown, and Parkland. They held a sit-in at the Capitol for a week because they were outraged that lawmakers wouldn’t take action to prevent gun violence.
Speaker McCarthy and his MAGA extremist allies are more than happy to lecture us about public safety. If he wants to talk about public safety, then let’s be clear about what’s happening: In the United States, guns are the leading cause of death for children and teens. This can’t keep happening. We have to act.
I fought for 27 months in combat to keep our country safe, only to come home and feel like we are turning our streets into combat zones. The weapons I carried in combat have no place on our streets, in our schools, concert halls, movie theaters, churches, parades, etc. Sadly, I’ve seen what they do to human bodies.
So this week, Democrats will file discharge petitions on three bills — including bills with bipartisan support. All it takes is a few Republican members of Congress to join us to pass these bills. We can do this.
If Kevin McCarthy is too cowardly to take action, House Democrats are happy to step up.
These bills will get weapons of war out of our schools and off our streets. They will close loopholes and expand background checks.
If you agree with me, please sign on in support of our efforts to pass gun safety legislation in Congress NOW >>
As a Representative, nothing is more important to me than your safety, the safety of our kids, and our ability to live without the fear of violence.
I refuse to let this inaction stand. We will turn up the pressure and keep up the fight, because we cannot keep failing our country.
Yours in service,
Pat
