Postmaster General Louis DeJoy bragged about his effort to implement “dramatic changes” and increase the pace of his already devastating 10-year privatization plan–a plan that includes longer delivery times, cutting post office hours, closing plants, and raising prices.

Due to the decimating impacts of his plan, DeJoy is keeping most of the specific details a secret, and what we do know about his proposed changes is bad. DeJoy wants to keep the details hidden and out of the public review process until it’s too late to stop him and the USPS is irrevocably damaged.

We will not allow DeJoy to hide in the shadows. We demand everyone who will be affected by DeJoy’s disastrous plan the opportunity to evaluate and provide public input.

The impacts will be felt even harder soon–DeJoy has already announced the consolidation of hundreds of postal processing centers across the country. These cuts across the USPS delivery network could have especially devastating consequences for remote areas, rural, and Indigenous communities who rely on USPS to receive medications, social security checks and vote-by-mail.

It’s time to stop him!

DeJoy seems to think he can act alone and do whatever he wants. But the USPS is a public service, and the public deserves to use every tool, agency, and resource we have to fight back and stop him–that includes public awareness and input of his shady plans.
