1. Many think of Washington as a “safe blue” state, but that isn’t the case when it comes to gubernatorial elections without an incumbent. In the last two campaigns for Governor, where there was no incumbent, the average margin of victory was just 1.5%. And the last time there was an open seat, the Republican Governors Association spent more than $11 million.

 → We need to be prepared for an even greater onslaught of cash this time. 

2. Earlier this month, a new “Democratic” opponent entered the race. This opponent voted against protecting reproductive health data and opposed a $15 minimum wage for Washingtonians. Plus, his past campaigns were funded by Big Pharma and Big Oil, who will spend millions to boost him.

 → Not only has Bob taken on special interests and delivered for Washingtonians, he is also the only candidate who does not accept donations from large corporations. That means we need to build a large grassroots coalition to win. 

3. A recent NPI poll shows Bob holding an early lead. However, 33% of voters remain undecided.

 → To boost our momentum and win, we need to raise the resources to reach undecided voters and spread the word about Bob’s record and vision for Washington.
