According to Dr. Chavis, the Democratic Party has historically been a champion of voting rights, but now in Arizona and elsewhere, parts of the party are mobilizing to deny ballot access to No Labels. This trend is alarming and requires our attention.
No Labels has been actively fostering bipartisan collaboration since 2010 and working to give a voice to America's commonsense majority. We believe in offering more choices in American politics, which is why we have been working to get ballot access in 2024 in states nationwide. If the major parties fail to offer candidates or ideas that resonate with the commonsense majority, we are willing to nominate a Unity ticket of common-sense candidates.
Regrettably, the Arizona Democratic Party has responded unfavorably to this by filing a lawsuit to invalidate our already approved petition. Their argument is that No Labels' presence on the ballot could hinder their electoral success.
This is a disheartening tactic that contradicts the core values of our nation. As Dr. Chavis wrote in his op-ed:
"If more than 60 years fighting for civil rights has taught me anything, it's that the selective application of obscure laws often serves as a cover for something repressive. It's unfortunate that there are some Democrats seeking to suppress the will of voters in Arizona, and now the suppression effort appears to be going national."
Join us in supporting Dr. Chavis and fighting for truth, justice, and ballot access.
