Folks, today I am reaching out to ask you to support my friend and mentor, Tammy Baldwin, in her reelection campaign for Wisconsin’s Senate seat.
I have known Tammy for a long time, long enough to know that Wisconsin and our country would not have made the progress it has without her leadership.
She has been a trailblazer in the Senate — making history as the first openly gay Senator in our nation's history. She has paved the pathway for women and members of the LGBTQ+ community in Congress all while working long and hard to protect and fight for working families in Wisconsin and nationwide.
Tammy understands the extraordinary opportunity she has to make a difference in people's lives. So she has fought relentlessly — whether it be lowering prescription drug prices or protecting same-sex marriage through the Respect for Marriage Act. She has gotten the job done.
Wisconsin is going to be critical in protecting the Senate majority in 2024, and Tammy’s progressive record only makes her a bigger target for the GOP.
We saw how Republican mega-donors and super PACs spent over $77 million on my race last year, yet only managed to win by a thin margin. I have no doubt they will double down and spend more this time around to try to flip Tammy’s seat.
The stakes are high and we cannot afford to lose Tammy’s leadership in the Senate.
