There are no legitimate grounds for impeaching President Biden, but the GOP wants it anyway. John, It isn't terribly controversial to say that we live in a highly polarized time in America. The tribal nature of politics and political parties means that what used to be considered fringe or extreme can sometimes become more mainstream. Impeachment, for example, was once considered a consequence of the gravest national concern. A president (or any federal elected official, really) would not have faced impeachment without being credibly accused of very serious transgressions that fit what most reasonable people would consider "high crimes and misdemeanors." But today's GOP just isn't serious about ethics, standards, or representing the considerations and interests of "reasonable people." That's why buffoons like Lauren Boebert are so prominent right now, and it's why they are able to wag the dog and push the Republican Party into ridiculous extremes: Boebert knows as well as anyone that her allegation that President Biden has "failed" his "constitutional duty" to secure the border (reference in the Constitution: not found) is completely bogus, and in any case nowhere near enough to impeach a popularly-elected (we're looking at you, Donald Trump) president. The only reason Boebert pushes extreme and stupid positions like this is to raise money from the gullible GOP base, most of which have been brainwashed to think the 2020 election was stolen in a massive, fake, impossible-to-explain conspiracy. We truly need to do everything we can to rid Congress of Lauren Boebert. We appreciate your support, but we have to keep up the momentum at the end of the fundraising quarter to counter Boebert's manipulation and pandering for campaign cash.
