Future Proud Michigan Educator Grow Your Own Staff Grants Awarded
Eighty school districts in Michigan will be developing more teachers from within their ranks with Future Proud Michigan Educator Grow Your Own (GYO) staff grants.?A reported 1,375 future educators will be able to access funds as part of this effort. To meet the high interest for GYO programs, MDE will provide a second application window this summer. School districts that want to learn more about the Round 2 GYO application process and timeline can consult the GYO Grant website or email [email protected]. Staff who are interested in learning more about financial support for future educators are encouraged to visit Michiganteacher.org and MI Student Aid to learn about funding opportunities for which they may be eligible. EXPLORE Educator Conference
The Future Proud Michigan Educator (FPME) EXPLORE conference will be the first annual opportunity for FPME EXPLORE educators (current and potential) to meet, learn, and exchange ideas. The primary purpose of the conference is to build a network of FMPE EXPLORE teachers to support educators and the continuous improvement of resources for programs.?
In addition to a keynote speaker, the breakout sessions offer a chance to address frequent questions and highlight best practices. Together, the sessions allow for collaboration across systems to facilitate the success of future educators in grades 6-12. The conference will take place October 10-11 at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing, MI.?
Academy of Natural Resources Offers Educators Professional Development
The Academy of Natural Resources (ANR) offers educators the opportunity to learn about Michigan's diverse natural resources, discover current trends in their management, and experience activities that bring knowledge to the classroom. This year, the ANR CLASSIC will be held July 9-14 at the Ralph A. MacMullen Conference Center on Higgins Lake near Roscommon, MI.
