Donald Trump posted this rallying cry in an attempt to bully the GOP votes Rep. Luna needs to censure me.

Not only that, but he goes on to say I should be imprisoned, and that any Republican who votes against my censure must be primaried.

While I wish we could chalk this up to absurdity, there are some deeply concerning implications in Trump’s post and what we’re watching unfold.

Earlier this year, we watched MAGA extremists hold the House hostage as they refused to give McCarthy the votes he needed to win the Speakership. Now, the man they follow blindly is promising to primary any Republican who does not vote the way he wants.

This is what I mean when I say we need to protect our democracy, John. He’ll go after anyone, do anything, in his pursuit for power. He'll try to hold our democracy hostage. And he’s more emboldened now than ever.

I will not stand by as a dangerous demagogue threatens to destroy all we hold dear. No matter what threats come my way.
