Thank you for reading my newsletter. Here's a summary of last week:
Message from Congressman Scott Fitzgerald
Good morning! I hope you had a wonderful long weekend in recognition of Juneteenth. This is an important holiday in our nation's history and a celebration of freedom.
Let me update you on a few of the most important happenings from last week.
The House was in session for a busy week, which included passing my second piece of legislation! The Separation of Powers Restoration Act, which restores Congress's power to legislate in favor of unelected bureaucrats, passed the House. Additionally, we considered legislation to protect Americans' freedom to use gas stoves, give Congress the ability to review new, major regulations, and to censure California Congressman Adam Schiff to hold him accountable for his lies to the American people about Russian collusion.
In the Financial Services Committee, we held several hearings to conduct oversight on Executive Branch officials from the Treasury Department, and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and on digital assets. In the Judiciary Committee, we held a hearing on how the current regulatory environment impacts the meat industry.
House Republicans are on a hot streak in fulfilling our commitment to America. Under our Majority, Congress is actually getting work done in person and often. While I am grateful to have gotten back to the district to attend several meetings and events this past weekend, I'm ready for week seven (in a row) we'll be in session.
I'm grateful to serve you in our nation's capital and look forward to the work ahead. It's a privilege to represent Wisconsin and be your advocate in Congress. Thank you.
- Scott

Happy Fathers Day from Zweig’s Maple Acres for the Watertown Agri-Business Club Dairy Breakfast! A special thanks to the Zweig family for hosting.
Separation of Powers Restoration Act
Government works best when it can be held accountable. Unfortunately, unelected bureaucrats in our agencies wield far more power than intended because of mandated deference, like Chevron, during judicial review. My legislation, which passed the House, restores Congress’s authority as the branch that makes the laws and the judiciary as the branch to interpret and enforce them.
