Dear JOHN,

You might have already heard the news, but I wanted to personally express my gratitude: after more than five years of serving as Chairman to the Washington State Republican Party (WSRP), and more than twelve years serving on staff, I have decided that it is time for a new chapter personally and professionally. My successor will be elected on August 12th by County party leadership from all 39 counties.

Serving as the Chairman of the WSRP has been one of the highest honors of my life. Traveling this great state, meeting thousands of committed people, working tirelessly with them to help elect great candidates, each moment has been both challenging and rewarding. However, for the purpose of being more present in my family’s life, it's time for a change. Though I will not be continuing on as Chairman of the WSRP, I will still remain very active in the fight for our conservative values as I have taken a position with a national grassroots organization dedicated to restoring freedom and the American Dream.

During my time as Chair, we were able to help get some tremendous people elected to office, but we also shared in more than a few heartbreaking losses. Below is just a short list of outstanding contributions I was proud to have made during my tenure in order to position the Washington State Republican Party into one of the strongest state parties in the entire country thanks to your partnership:

  • 13,000+ grassroots activists trained and mobilized to support candidates.
  • $26 million raised to support our Republican efforts in Washington State, including securing the largest investment from national Republican committees in decades.
  • Hiring 400+ Republicans through our robust field programs that are now professionals equipped to run campaigns, work for state and national organizations, and be staff members for Republicans in Olympia and D.C.
  • In 2022, we put the WSRP on the map by building the 4th largest field program of any state party in the entire country - rivaling states like Texas, Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.
  • Implementing new and vital programs like Every Race, Every Place and our newest Ballot Collection program that will be an effective and legal means of countering the Democrat’s dirty ballot harvesting tactics used in past elections.

I cannot thank all of the current and past staff at the WSRP enough for the tremendous amount of time and passion they have contributed to our shared cause and to this organization. I am deeply thankful to have gotten to know and work alongside each and every one of them.

Moving forward, there is no slowing down for our excellent staff at the WSRP. They are continually engaging with our supporters and working with activists across the state to educate voters on why Republican leadership is necessary if we are going to bring an end to the disastrous state Democrats have led us to.

Our Political team will continue to build on top of the 60+ trainings already held that have trained over 2,000 grassroots activists, plus the 15+ candidate trainings that have set-up hundreds of local candidates with the data, knowledge, and voter-contact tools they need to be successful in defeating radical socialists running for school boards and city councils this year, and we’re engaging with dozens of local organizations and businesses each week to help us implement our aggressive Ballot Collection program in communities throughout the state. The Washington State Republican Party will continue to remain strong and active through August and through the statewide elections in November 2024.

With a strong foundation built, I am excited for what lies ahead for the WSRP and our Party as a new Chair works to implement their vision for the future, and I hope you share in this excitement. I remain deeply thankful to our donors, volunteers, staff, and you, all of our committed supporters who together make the work of our party possible.

I can’t thank you enough for your commitment and dedication to fighting for common sense conservative values. I will remain in that fight nationally and here in Washington State, and will look forward to partnering with you in new and different ways moving forward. The situation in Washington is only hopeless, if we give up hope. Our country, our state, our communities, and our future, are worth fighting for.

Looking forward,

Caleb Heimlich
