In 10 days, my campaign for US Congress hits an important deadline for the Federal Election Commission. At the end of this month, we'll close out our "Q2" or second quarter of the year. But what does this mean? Every year, candidates running for federal office must meet four quarterly deadlines. After each deadline passes, we're required to report how much money we've raised and from how many individual contributions. Political analysts and the press scrutinize these deadlines as an indicator of the strength of a campaign. If a campaign has lots of early support from many individual supporters, it's seen as being on track. If a campaign is struggling and only raising money from a few donors, it's not a great sign. For my campaign, I don't believe in big money in politics. I reject corporate PAC money because I want my financial support to reflect people power, not big pockets. I'm less concerned with big dollar donors, and prefer to be funded by small contributions from many supporters. I'm working hard to ensure that the FEC report we file on June 30 shows grassroots support. People like you who donate to campaigns like mine make this possible. If you've recently contributed, thank you! Your donation does not go unnoticed and I'm very grateful you're in my corner. Disregard the financial ask and consider this email a campaign update. Because every bit helps, please forward this to your like-minded friends. We want as many people reflected on this FEC report as possible. Our strength is not in dollar amounts; it's in number of contributors. Thank you for your consideration. I appreciate your support!
