*Michigan internet gaming, sports betting operators report $185.8M in May revenue*

DETROIT, June 20, 2023 ? Michigan commercial and tribal operators reported a combined $185.8 million total internet gaming gross receipts and gross sports betting receipts in May. Gross receipts decreased 5.1% compared to April results.

May internet gaming gross receipts totaled $150.6 million and gross sports betting receipts totaled $35.2 million. In April 2023, internet gaming gross receipts were $159.4 million and gross sports betting receipts were $36.3 million.

Combined total internet gaming and internet sports betting adjusted gross receipts were $157.5 million, including $135.5 million from internet gaming and $22.0 million from internet sports betting in May 2023. These figures are 5.5% and 10.2% decreases compared to April 2023, but are an 18.1% increase and a 2.0% decrease, respectively, compared to May 2022 reported revenues.

Total internet sports betting handle at $288.3 million was down by 10.7% from the $322.8 million handle recorded in April 2023.

The operators reported submitting $29.4 million in taxes and payments to the State of Michigan during May, including:


* Internet gaming taxes and fees: $28.0 million
* Internet sports betting taxes and fees: $1.4 million

The three Detroit casinos reported paying the City of Detroit $7.6 million in wagering taxes and municipal services fees during May, including:


* Internet gaming taxes and fees: $7.0 million
* Internet sports betting taxes and fees: $642,422

Tribal operators reported making $3.4 million in payments to governing bodies in May.
