These days, it’s the job that Yoel Roth doesn’t have that he’s talking about.
Previously the head of trust and safety at Twitter, Roth led a large team that was responsible for Twitter’s content moderation, integrity and platform security efforts, and combating harmful misinformation.
That was before Elon Musk took over.
In a recent episode of “This American Life” — What I Was Thinking As We Were Sinking ([link removed]) — Roth spoke about what it was like to be personally named by then-President Donald Trump during an Oval Office press conference as a threat to free speech.
Roth will bring his fascinating story and his advice for journalists who still use Twitter to the stage at GlobalFact 10 ([link removed]) as one of our keynote speakers. You can attend his session (or watch a replay), along with getting access to all the other GF10 goodies ([link removed]) , with a free virtual ticket using code WTD100 at checkout.
Other keynotes include Dr. Eun-Ju Lee of Seoul National University, who will share her understanding of the cognitive biases that cause people to fall for mis- and disinformation, her research on when people are more susceptible to false information, and how to enhance the effectiveness of corrective information; and Finnish investigative journalist and author Jessikka Aro, who has spent years investigating the activities of pro-Russian internet trolls.
Read on for more ways to bring truth to your audiences.
