It’s nearly been one year since the House passed H.R. 8, the bipartisan background checks bill.
That’s a year of preventable gun violence. It’s a year of politicians quietly meeting with the NRA while turning their backs on gun violence survivors.
We have no more words. Just anger and sadness.
We cannot afford to wait another day for lawmakers to address this horrific national public safety threat.
Lobbyists for the firearms industry and the politicians paid to defend them will tell you that horrific acts of violence like this are beyond our control.
This could not be further from the truth.
Every day we fail to act, we choose this fate. Every day politicians fail to acknowledge and act upon this crisis, they allow the gun violence epidemic to continue.
