Last summer, the Democratic majority passed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) . This legislation is a big deal, John, I can’t stress this enough.

The Inflation Reduction Act is a once-in-a-generation investment in our climate, infrastructure, and economy. But Kevin McCarthy’s GOP is threatening to undo all the progress we’ve made with this legislation, even as we start to see the impact of the IRA in action.

The IRA delivers on the promise of progress and prosperity for American families and workers while investing in our environment and planet for future generations. Take a look at some details of this landmark legislation:

✅ Lowers healthcare costs for low and middle-income people and families

✅ Reduces the costs of life-saving prescription drugs by capping the cost of insulin at $35/month for seniors

✅ Made the largest investment in green energy to combat climate change in U.S. history, including millions of dollars in tax credits for any clean energy investments you make at home

✅ Increased funding for domestic manufacturing and tax credits for small businesses

Those are just a few highlights. Let me share a couple of Pennsylvania-specific points too.

✔️ Estimated $270 million for job creation in the clean energy sector (for Pennsylvania alone), creating good-paying jobs in the Commonwealth

✔️ Millions of low and middle-income households will qualify for rebates and tax credits to lower costs, and lower energy bills every month

The scope of this legislation is so grand, I cannot overstate the impact it will have in the coming months and years.
